I’m Ginny, and I believe your family is unique and unrepeatable.
I believe God chose you to be the absolute best mom for your kids.
I believe neurodivergence is not a disease. It can be a cross, yes, but it has borne beautiful discoveries and accomplishments.
I believe a diagnosis is a tool, not a label, and that as such, it will open doors.
I believe right now is not forever. Growth comes in fits and starts.
I believe in equipping families with the tools they need to remain unique and unrepeatable while successfully navigating a neurotypical world.
I believe in one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic Church, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the dead, and the life everlasting.
Most of all, most importantly, I believe God gave your children you, the exact mother they need to thrive.
You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
psalm 139:13-14
It’s so nice to meet you!
I’m a Catholic mom of three twice-exceptional kids. We have a variety of diagnoses in our house, ranging from autism level one (not impacting language or intelligence) to obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and ADHD. Two girls, one boy: one in college, one in high school, and one in the last year of elementary. My husband is a school counselor, loves D&D (good guys only) and Warhammer, and is smarter than I can ever hope to be.
Before I was a mom, I taught high school English, shifting to freelance instruction and tutoring after my first child was born. I have a Master’s Degree in English with a concentration in teaching writing and literature. For the past twenty-five years, I’ve worked with students ages twelve and up (including adults), specializing in the gifted and neurodivergent.
I had ideas about motherhood and what it was supposed to look like. God had other, better ideas. I founded Not So Formulaic in 2017, rebranded to Quirky Catholic Kids in the fall of 2024, and over the last eight years, I’ve written over a dozen books for neurodivergent Catholic families, including my forthcoming title (February 2026) from Sophia Institute Press. I’ve coached dozens of moms individually and in small groups, and counseled thousands more in my newsletter and Facebook group. I have homeschooled, cottage-schooled, Catholic-schooled, and public-schooled. My desk is always a mess.
